Feed Your Muscles Power Food!

Pump Iron After Trying My 'High Protein Power Wrap' Recipe




Ingredients:

1 Tofurky Sausage (Italian style is amazing in this recipe! Great spices in it!)
1 Wrap, Flatbread, etc. (I used Lavash bread wrap which was low carb, high protein)
1/4 cup frozen peas
Handful of Daiya Mozzarella Cheese (or other vegan mozz)
Bragg's Liquid Aminos to taste

What to do:

Chop the Tofurky sausage into small pieces, place in a microwave safe bowl. Add to bowl frozen peas, cheese, and the liquid aminos. Microwave for 1 minute, stir. If the cheese isn't perfectly melty, microwave for another 30 seconds. Stir and spread on wrap. Roll or wrap up in your desired manner. Enjoy!

This recipe (depending on what wrap and other ingredients you use) should be about 34 grams of protein! A serving of Tofurky Sausage is 29 grams of protein, and the Lavash bread wrap that I used was low carb and had 5 grams of protein. This tastes almost like a pepperoni pizza! The Daiya makes it so melty and cheesy, I sneak the peas in, which are such a great touch and add some veggies to this. It is just perfect and you must try this out!

  1. Hello! Wanted to ask you about Liquid Aminos... saw a bottle at the store today and i've seen it used in alot of vegan/vegetarian recipes and i'm clueless as to what it actually is... does it replace nutrients or just add flavor? is it some type of filler?
    p.s. i absolutely am in love with your blog! spent the good part of my afternoon reading through past entries and i'm hooked! keep up the good work!

    The Braggs Liquid Aminos are a soy sauce substitute and made from vegetable protein from soybeans, so it is very similar to soy sauce. It has 16 out of the 20 amino acids, so its definitely a nutritious alternative to soy sauce, tamari, or shoyu. And basically amino acids help with re-building/ re-growth of muscles, cells, blood in the body, and said to aid digestion and metabolism. Each amino acid has its own job also, and in my past research, I discovered that the body absolutely needs amino acids but sometimes people do not get enough of them in their diet.

    If you try it, let me know what you think. I really like the taste of it. Its great in stir-fry, to add in sauces or marinades, to replace salt in recipes since it has naturally occurring sodium, and to replace soy sauce with, in recipes. Hope that helps :)
